Quails are my favorite birds, I love seeing them scurry across the desert with babies in tow. This design is influenced by the thunderbird style reminscient of vintage jewelry, but I put my own twist on it and made it into a quail (see the feather crest on the top?).
Aloe variscite is a very beautiful and unique material coming out of Nevada. It is hand dug and cut by the owner and miner. I am proud to support another small business by buying his stones and using them in my work.
The bolo consists of 2 layers of sheet silver, handmade flower details, is hand stamped with several different designs and comes on a genuine leather braided cord with sterling silver tips. This is one of the most labor intensive pieces I've ever made and I'm so proud of it. It can be worn by any gender, with any type of clothing - I've worn bolos with anything from button down shirts to little black dresses. Whatever works for you!
